Long Beach, CA band The Cold Ward Kids have just released a new video for their the single “Louder Than Ever”  – off the album Mine is Yours – out January 25th.  SO GOOD.

Any attempt at reviewing this Brooklyn (by way of Missouri) six-piece band’s show at the Bowery Ballroom last night, January 24th, will not do it justice.

More success lies ahead for the White Rabbits – they’ve got the chops and presence that’ll intimidate the Cold War Kids, and a non-egotistical way of commanding attention.  Pure musicianship in each member.

Pictures from their sick performance:

Who:

A six-man band from Brooklyn, by way of Missouri.

Comparisons:

A jazzier version of Cold War Kids with an Americanized taste of Scottish band Franz Ferdinand.

Worthy:

When you’re signed to the same label as Radiohead and Underworld, you have to believe you’re good.

Check out their tracks on their myspace page and check them out May 21st at Bowery Ballroom. Listen to “Percussion Gun” below.

Cold War Kids returned to NYC for a sold-out show at Terminal 5 on Friday night, 4.3.

Pros:  They’re a great band.  The tracks off their first album were clear standouts for the crowd.

Cons:  The venue, the bad lighting, the 60min set.

We needed more tracks, more lighting, and less people.

Fingers crossed for Bowery Ballroom as the next venue of their choice…

In the end, still a big fan.
